Long time Reddit Lurker, but I do have a high feedback ebay profile: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=TubaMT&ftab=AllFeedback&items=25
I am selling a bunch of GPU's. I'll be out of town for many months so will not be able to play games and figured now would be the time to sell. I am currently in Denver, CO if anybody wants to purchase these locally.
All prices are negotiable to an extent.
I have:

I bought this a year and a half ago. It was sitting in a box for over a year unopened since I was out of town. I finally opened it and started using it for about a month, then got a GTX 980. I put it back in the box and that's been all the use it's got. It does have small scratches/bends on the heatsink near the 6 and 8 pin power connectors. That's only from my ineptitude in removing the power connectors. Other than that it looks brand new and runs great. It will come in the original packaging and box. It has a lifetime warranty on it, but I do not think it is transferable. If there are any problems in the future, I would be able to help out with warranty issues though, unless there is a way for me to transfer the warranty.
Asking $140 shipped
R9 280 sold to ILoveLeche for $120 shipped
---AMD XFX Radeon HD 7850 Double D: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150656 https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b1758/xfx-double-d-hd-7850-1-gb.html I've had this card for a couple years but it looks brand new. It works great and I'm using it in my system right now. I am almost positive I have the original packaging and box but I have to find them. It also has a lifetime warranty like the above R9 280 but it is not transferable. So for any warranty concerns, I would have to initiate it I believe.
Asking $80 for it shipped
Decided not to sell the 7850.

http://graphics-cards.specout.com/l/499/XFX-HD-687A-ZHFC
I've had this card for a while now. Still works great! I was using it on a spare computer until recently when my brother lent me his 750 Ti. It will come in the original box and packaging. It also has a lifetime warranty on it. The lifetime warranty on this card IS transferable, however, as opposed to the above cards.
Asking $60 shipped.
Decided not to sell the 6870.
More information on the XFX Warranties for the R9 280 and the HD 7850: This is what XFX says about the warranty on their website: "Have an older card? Don’t worry, while our warranty has changed over the years whatever warranty your card had when it was purchased it still has that same warranty! If you are experiencing any issues with previous warranties or registration, please contact us, we will deal with those issues on a case by case basis. Dont forget, since the start of the 7000 Series, Lifetime warranties cannot be transferred when selling to a 2nd party."
All graphics cards will be shipped via USPS or FedEx with insurance, tracking, and signature confirmation.
Thanks for looking and comment and/or PM with offers :)

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280 support question.

Here is a link to the card in question:
http://imgur.com/gallery/5DikS15
I built a PC specifically for mining bitcoin with nicehash, it has an AMD phenom II processor and an ATI Radeon graphics card, but it also has an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280, and I was wondering if the GTX 280 is supported by nicehash. If it isn't, can there be a version that can be released that supports the GPU in question? Thanks!
UPDATE: I said in this post that I have an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280. NOT an AMD video card or anything like that (that I plan on mining with). So PLEASE STOP ASKING! Also the point of this thread was to ask if it was compatible. I don't care if the card isn't profitable anymore. I just want to know if it is compatible. I did not know that there was so much unneeded controversy over a person just wanting to bitcoin mine with older hardware. Please stop commenting about it not being profitable anymore. That's all. Have a nice day.

A comprehensive review of miner arguments against issuance reduction

First I wanted to start by saying Hudson Jameson did a phenomenal job wrangling all these different stakeholders to the core devs meeting today and playing the part of an effective, neutral moderator. It was a really interesting meeting and great to hear all viewpoints. I'm sure many of you live streamed it as well.
I’m an Ethereum investor and active user, and I took notes on the most prominent miner arguments against issuance reduction along with my thoughts on each. Would love to hear any thoughts or any ones I may have missed.
GPUs that leave network after issuance reduction can be used to attack Network Security (Xin Xu)
Xin Xu argues that a decline in issuance from 3 to 2 (33%) will cause a drop in hashrate by 33%, and that such a large drop in hashrate will lead to an influx of GPUs on the market that can be used to attack Ethereum. This argument is predicated on the idea that hashrate will drop significantly. However, any drop in hashrate will decrease difficulty so mathematically a 33% drop in issuance should have at most a ~18% impact to total hashrate assuming a linear relationship. I don't believe that a drop in Ethereum Network Hashrate from current levels (280 TH/s) to January 2018 levels (230 TH/s) is a doomsday scenario. And the real drop will certainly be much smaller for two reasons. 1) Historical data shows that hashrate is extremely resilient against drops in price as well as issuance (source: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DlTEyKBV4AERGtB.jpg:large). 2) Historical data also shows that all Ethereum and Bitcoin issuance reductions were followed by price increases which could partially or completely offset the decline in hashrate.
Issuance Reduction will drive a dramatic shift in hardware composition of the network (Brian Venturo)
Brian Venturo argues that a reduction in issuance will price out GPU miners and cause the network to dramatically shift towards ASIC miners in the short term, increasing mining centralization. However, miners on the call pointed out that currently available ASICS (Antminer E3) is in-line with top GPUs in terms of mining efficiency. It’s only when we compare claims from as-yet unreleased ASIC manufacturers (Innosilicon A10) to 2-year old GPU technology (GTX 1080) that we see any risk of an efficiency gap. Second, the total Ethereum network hashrate is 280 TH/s. This is equivalent to 577,000 Innosilicon A10s, which would cost $3.3 Billion (at $5700 each). Any shift of even 10-20% in Ethereum network hardware composition will be slow and steady, and as we heard on the call, miners looking to spend significant capital on new hardware are considering major ROI headwinds from 1) upcoming shift to PoS and 2) possible exploration of new ASIC-resistant algos like ProgPOW. Both of these would brick current generation ASICS while GPUS would retain their resale value. More work needs to be done exploring ASIC-resistant POW algorithms, and there's no reason why issuance-reduction EIPs should be roadblocked in the interim.
EIP 1295 as an alternative (Brian Venturo)
Brian Venturo cites the current rules around Uncle and Nephew rewards as causing weird incentives that miners are exploiting to maximize uncle rate and squeeze higher issuance out of the network. This is a super interesting point, and one that I would love to see explored in more detail (as the downstream implications could be quite complex) in addition to EIP-1234. There’s no reason why 1295 is mutually exclusive with EIP-1234, and positioning it that way is a clever tactic to delay any issuance reduction. Brian himself suggested an issuance reduction in 2019 on top of EIP-1295.
My Final thought
I am in full support of EIP-1234 as a moderate issuance reduction to reduce Ethereum inflation and the amount we are overpaying miners for security. Looking back on it, last year’s 40% reduction from 5 eth/block to 3 eth/block has turned out to be a phenomenally good decision. Since then, hashrates have increased 3x while price has declined 20% (was $330 pre-fork), all while we reduced inflation by 40%. Another modest issuance reduction is a prudent decision that is a natural step in Ethereum’s growth and consistent with the original vision for inflation. In contrast, a difficulty bomb delay without a corresponding issuance reduction should be viewed as an issuance increase.
The quicker we can get this decision behind us, the better. As long as this question looms, investors will lack confidence in Ethereum’s monetary policy, and mining stakeholders will have massive incentive to decrease Ethereum price until Constantinople to increase the chance they can mine at inflated rates through 2019

Roommate has spare graphics cards to sell me for a good deal, which should I choose?

Currently I have a nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti. I built my desktop in 2013 and haven't touched it since. My roommate has a few graphics cards he used to use to mine bitcoin, but now they sit in a box. He has offered me either a GTX 970 4G (currently $699 on newegg), or a Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8G (currently $249 on newegg)
I'm not well versed on graphics cards so I don't know the details but just based off the price the 970 seems better? I'm unsure. I also need to consider how much power each one will need. I have a 550W power supply in my current build, but I'm uncertain if a power supply upgrade would be necessary for either of these cards.
He is asking $500 for the 970, $200 for RX 580

I'm officially an Oculus addict - I just set up my second VR room.

Just got done setting up my VR room at home - for the past 8 months my office has been my main VR space. I got a killer deal on a second Rift so I set up my home office with sensors, but shortly after getting my second Rift the video card shortage hit full swing and I just couldn't justify spending that much on a video card.
Well, bitcoin rush has ended and card prices finally dropped so I got me a Asus GTX 1060 6gb on sale for $280 and finished setting up my home VR room. Now I don't have to lug my PC back and forth between office and home, and my son and I can finally play VR on the weekdays...
Just in time for summer.
Anyways, just had to share...
EDIT: Pic of my son sweatin it out to Beat Saber

Why Am I making less that before-Market Trends Explained!!

Hi folks recently I had been following reditt and it's pretty funny to see people jumping into crypto currency mining without understanding the basics and how markets in general work.I would like to answer some of these questions here
Q1.Why is Nicehash payment soo low compaired to couple of months back.Even after bit coins has recoverd in value since
A- 4 Reasons
1.Sudden Influx of new miners into nicehash and into the mining game in general due to the bull run (up market) in crypto currencies that we say in the past couple of months .On the day A Video on NH by Youtuber austin Evans was relseased we recorded a sudden increase in the global hashing power, which was never seen before .AFTER EVERY SUDDEN RISE THERE IS A SUDDEN FALL.-economics 101
2.Remeber NH doesn't mine a single coin it mines algorithim that can be shared by multiple coins and you are generally paid based on several factors like Btc/$ rates, current rates of other mined currencies like ZCASH (equihash),ETH (daggerhashimoto),etc and most importantly the SUPPLY (no.of gpus pointed at HN) Vs. DEMAND (No.Of buyers buying the hashing power coming out of the gpus).Since more people discoverying about the eazy 1 click "Sell hashing power" feature on NH and have no idea about the complicated "buying hashing power" section leads to more SUPPLY less DEMAND = LOW PAYOUTS
3.On NH You are only decrypting a gpu supported algorithm which is shared by many coins, all of these coins also known as alt coins are pegged against Bitcoins which is inturn by most people pegged against the dollar. So the change in the value of any one of these factors ie.Hashing PoweAlt coin demand and difficulty/Bitcoins value/Dollar fiat currency value can change your daily payout.
4.zcash,eth and other gpu mined coins still didnot fully recover to the value it had a couple of monts ago its recovering very slowly
4.Low Demand from buyer of hashing power due to uncertanity in the mining world due to Changes been made into the bitcoin system on August 1
August 1 Uncertanity = Scared Market = Low demand =Bear Run (down market).Read more only about that
Note- Nicehash payouts has increased around 30% as bitcoin rates to dollar rate had also shown a similar up trend, since you are paid in mBtc or bitcoins in general never compare your NH Bitcoin payments with fiat currency ($€£¥,etc) because that $10 that you hold in btc now can be $30 in the future if bitcoin rates rises in the future.Happened in the past with my friends who sold a lot of mined bit coins in 2013 for mere dollars ,the value of those bit coins are now in millions. Then again if Btc crashes your held $10 in bitcoins can fall to mere 0.
Since sometimes history repeats holding mined or bought btc for some time is more profitable than selling now.The price of btc will standardise one day if more and more people start adopting btc payments and there will be marginal profits to be made then by trading or mining coins (eg .modern fiat currency trading or gold trading).Again it's just a speculation based on historical analysis.
Q2.When will my GPU's become FREE
A1.NOW,ie.if you scored your cards before gpu prices skyrocketed if you sell them now the money you made till now by mining will be free+extra premium for the cards.Mosr cards come with 3yrs warrenty so that helps with the sale
Your GPU ROI is paid the day you make 40% of what you paid for your gpu by mining ,the other 60% of the ROI can comes from selling your cards. These days even used cards are sold for 110% the price of the Box price as new cards are sold for 150-200% the original price.
Price of mining/gaming grade GPU is at all time high now even though Gtx 1070/1080 and Amd RX cards are nearing the 2nd half of there life cycle .We see new faster and cheaper cards every 2 years or so.so the price of your mining cards will keep going down from now on as new surplus stock of these cards will be out in August-September and New mining cards are coming out around September aswell.Better invest in new cards to stay ahead in the mining game.
Q3.They why dont You sell your cards You are Mining right?
A1.Im under the assumption that Bitcoins will one day touch $5000 mark one day.so what ever I'm mining now if compared to the my investment and the current market I will be making my ROI in 1year plus or maybe never as difficulty of mining increases every now and then but I think bitcoin is a very functional form to currency it can add a lot of value to our society (FUN FACT-Do you know private bank can print free money,Google it up) bit coins patches all the problems with out current centralised money system making us slave for the govt.Bitcoins is the future of money
So if i follow this single idea of bit coins getting to $5000 one day my $100 is btc today will be around $280 approx. Or could be $50 .
YOU CAN NEVER ACCURATELY SPECULATE IN AN OPEN MARKET.So Stop fantasizing about getting rich quick by mining if you can do it then so the guy living next door.Have trust on crypto coins use them to buy stuff that helps making the whole currency valuable and your coins as well.
Q4.Mining Via NH vs Mining Altcoin directly vs Mining bit coins vs trading coins.
A1.Mining Via NH-Hassle free,Paid in btc, auto switching, optimised and stable than all.Saves a lot of time=More hashing time=more earning. You do pay a small % as frees but that's negligible compared to the time it saves.
Mining Directly - Hasselous, manual setup, non noob friendly, you get to keep all the profits plus you are mining an alt coin directly so if your cards are good at one or two coins then more profit here plus you are look the market and mine anything that high today Or would increase in a couple of days and sell later for a huge profit.Smart human auto switching makes you more money than NH. It's more fun but takes more time.
Mining Bitcoins-No You can't,too difficult to mine btc with gpu the Chinese got a lot of the bitcoin mining mega farms.
Trading coins-Always profitable bought bit coins last month, sold yesterday making a sweet $3000 profit in 3 weeks.Buy now and sell later will always make you some profit since bit coins are finite in number like gold, you can't create new bit coins out of thin air.so if bitcoin catches and more people know about it it's value can go though the roof.
Q4.Any better way to mine? ASIC vs Bitman miners vs Gpu rigs
A4. Now folkes asic miners (bitman miners) eta can mine better than any gpu in the market they are specifically built for mining a certain algorithm(coin) ie.No auto switching .So if the coin falls in value you are left with the most advance and expensive door stopper in the world. No one would touch the hardware and it's value could be zero in a day.Usually these miners loose all it's value in 1 yr or 2 as difficulty increases
Not so with GPUs.Say I have 2 gtx1070 and a gtx 970 bought for say $1300 (same price as a asic miner) mining 24/7 and I earn some bit coins (surely a bit less than mining on an asic) but again next year say all my cards become unprofitable by mining then I'm still the owner of with a super advance and a very expensive gaming rig on which I can do multiple display and also multiple instance of gaming. I can sell the 1070 and 970 to a gamer with 2yr warranty on those cards and I can make the reminder as gaming never falls out of favour.Remeber these cards can still decrypt other stuff like Wi-Fi passwords and physical stimulation and calculations in minutes, that's how hard mining has got and difficulty will increase overtime.
Q.Any suggestions ?
A.I can share my plans
Gameplan 1=Buy Newer cards quick in September ,Enjoy higher mining payouts, others will follow, mining hardware increases in price, then market crashes for sometime, you made your money, sell your cards for 100-150% the original value.Live happy every and after
Gameplan2-Buy bit coins today, wait till the prices reaches another all time high ,happens every year,Sell and don't forget to live happy every and after,
A happy man is some one with no money to worry about. -My Father said to me the day I started mining.

Advice? Going a bit insane.

I have a simple set-up I've been trying to get running stable for about a week now. I have 2x nVIDIA GTX 980 and 2x Radeon 29 280X cards that I want to use.
I have previously used just the GTX 980s and they were stable for weeks. I recently acquired the 280s, and while I can't be certain, I think the cards are not at issue.
I also had two of the 980s and one 280 running in my desktop stable for quite some time, just as a tester. But for the actual mining rig, I was using old AMD AM3-based hardware. And I've had nothing but problems. Murphy's law.
First, I had a motherboard go out (ASUS M4A87TD EVO.) Luckily I had a spare. But the ASUS board had two native PCI-E x16 slots (one running at x1 speed,) and so I had been running the 980s both in the motherboard, and was using this riser extender to run the other cards, with molex->SATA risers (I don't have enough native 4-pin connectors to run without molex to SATA adapters.)
The "new" board (which is actually chronologically older and older tech) is a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H. It's also socket AM3 but only supports DDR2 memory; luckily I had old DDR2 available. This board also only has one x16 slot, so I am running 3 GPUs outside of the chassis with x16 risers.
It turns out after some nightmare of troubleshooting that one of the DDR2 DIMMs is probably bad. I don't have a replacement at the moment, but I've tried running everything with one DIMM.
I also have Virtual Memory (swap/page file) set to 16GB. I don't know why this is necessary, but other people mention it and NiceHash wouldn't let me run 4 cards without it.
Anyway, all works "fine;" I have the 280s set to 850MHz core clock and +20 power with 100% fans, and 100% fans and native clock on the 980s.
But I keep getting crashes. Before I had freezes, so I also changed out power supplies several times and tried everything you can think of. I don't think the issue is down to power any more, but I'm open to correction if anyone has a suggestion or tip.
For power, I'm using a 3 to 1 ATX-24 pin adapter, with a SeaSonic 620W as the master, and a Corsair 550W as the "slave." The SeaSonic powers the motherboard and the ATX12V for the CPU. It also powers the 3 SATA to molex adapters for the x16 risers, and the 8+6 pin PCI-E power connectors for the 280s.
The Corsair powers the HDD (this I have also suspected of causing problems but I have swapped HDDs and had the same issues, and I really need to get an SSD for this thing,) two 120mm intake fans, two 140mm exhaust fans, and the 6 pin PCI-E connectors for the 980s.
It doesn't seem to freeze anymore. It will mine just fine for a while but eventually I will get a BSOD, usually saying that the device driver has gone into an infinite loop. I believe this is the Crimson driver (I am using version 15.12.)
I've swapped CPUs and memory and HDDs and motherboards and I'm just almost at my wits' end about to tear my hair out trying to get this thing to run stably. I most likely just need to get all new mainboard/CPU/memory, but I can't do that at the moment, so I am looking for any advice/help I can get.
I would assume the driver is going into an infinite loop because it's polling hardware and not getting the response it expects or something like that, which could indicate a power or heat issue, but I don't know. And I've searched for the BSOD error and 90% of the results for "device driver went into an infinite loop" (paraphrasing) were related to AMD Crimson drivers. So that's been where my suspicion has been so far, and I've had other problems with getting the AMD stuff to work when I was initially setting it up. (And had problems with AMD/ATi drivers going back 20 years, ugh.)
So.. Any advice?
TL;DR: Running 2x GTX 980 and 2x R9 280X; keep getting BSOD about device driver going into an infinite loop after some time mining. Want to stab myself.

[Meta] High end electronics for Doge?

I'm just wondering if there is enough demand for high-end electronics on the sub or if I should stick to eBay.
I can sell these items brand new with warranty for 20% cheaper than Amazon or NewEgg.
Also, I have the right to not sell to whoever I please, you know who you are.

A couple of examples of what I would carry:

Various brands of
Nvidia
ASUS Motherboards
Newest Generation i7
Accessories
Others

Once again, everything would be BRAND NEW and in stock. I'm based in the USA but would consider international shipping.

Edit- Please upvote so I can get other shibes' opinions. Someone isn't happy that I won't sell to them and is down voting me. =(

Pricing this one is abit on the difficult side but i figured i would start here and go from their.
This is a BEAST of a motherboard supports dual socket 2011 cpus and is the only mobo for this socket that will let you overclock them (bclk oc) I currently run dual e5-2670's on it and it handles every task i throw at it with flying colors. I have tested it with MANY operating systems including, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 R2, win 10, ESXI 6.0 (majority of time), and Proxmox (basic testing) all of which it was COMPLETELY stable. However, this motherboard does have some damage in both of the sockets. socket 0 is missing 3 pins all of witch are redundant I believe they are all grounding pins. socket 1 is missing about 5 and some of those are redundent but some of them are related to dimm 4. dimm 4 of socket one does not work leaving you with only 11 out of the 12 dimms. This is the only damage that effects the functionality of the mobo the only other "damage" is VERY small and in no way effects the preformance or look of the mobo. Currently this is the only on I could find for sale anywhere and figured i would put it on the market in case anyone was interested. This is used in my daily rig and i use it for everything from virtualization to CAD and gaming with zero issues.

would like to keep until i sell the sr-x as its a important part of my main rig.

[USA-KS] [H] HD6950, Broken 260X, GT 545 [W] Paypal, Trades, Local cash

You saw the title!
HD6950 - $50 + shipping. Tested, works! Only personally used once in the last two weeks. This card was purchased by a friend of mine during the bitcoin mining craze, but he only used it for a short period of time due to cost issues. It sat in his office until two weeks ago when I bought it.
R7 260X - $20 + shipping. Tested & NOT working. Not sure what's wrong with it, but I get no video signal at startup. Was purchased new in October of 2015 and only used until February. I would have RMA'd it but it's XFX and they wanted me to pay ~$60 in shipping to RMA. This could be an interesting project for someone with a soldering kit.
GT 545 - $35 + shipping. Came from an Alienware Aurora R2 (I believe) It's kinda dirty, but it works fine. Could maybe use some love and new thermal paste. Your call.
Prices are negotiable, especially if I can find a cheaper shipping service. Also willing to consider trades for each or all of the listed cards. I'm specifically looking for a new GPU. I'd be willing to trade all three cards for something along the lines of a R9 280, R9 380, GTX 680, 770, or 960. I'm also considering other trades. Just hit me up and we'll go from there.
Timestamps
For those who are curious, the 6950 and 260X perform similarly to a 750 ti. The GT 545 is in the same performance bracket as a GT 650 or R7 250. Source

no post craping on this item unless you can find a cheaper one online
